HISTORY
1982 – Link Plumbing and Gas Service is Born
Link Plumbing and Gas Service was founded by John F. Gielink. Born in Durban, South Africa, John began his plumbing career at 16 with Allanson & Sommer. After 10 years at the company, he migrated to Perth in 1975 with his wife Gloria and daughter Jill. He worked on Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital with Park Plumbing and Karloski Plumbing before briefly moving to Brisbane, where he worked on construction projects and earned his Water Plumbing Licence. Returning to Perth, he became a supervisor at Leisk Plumbers, working on Allendale Square, the city’s first high-rise. In 1978, John joined Rheem Australia as a licensed plumber and was later promoted to manage contractors and service technicians. That role began a strong partnership with Rheem that continues today. In 1982, he launched Link Plumbing and Gas Service, and we've proudly worked with Rheem ever since.
